Objective: The purpose for establishing the Merrell Scholarship Fund is to encourage and assist those high school students that graduate with grade averages 3.5 and higher to continue their education.The Fund will not pay for your education but will assist as long as you maintain a grade average of 3.5 and above for the first two years of college. Limits have to be set due to limited funds. The funds generated will come from fund raisers and as donations from Family members and others.

Committee Members: Founders, Bob Kelsey and Eddie Lee Merrell. Associated members are Stewart A. Merrell, Vetris Merrell and Shontay Merrell. Applicants must be screened by the Committee and the Committee will work with school Counselors in Washington, Wilkinson and other Counties where Merrell family members may reside. Any concerns Family members my have will be addressed by the full committee at any time.

Prerequisites: The Merrell Scholarship Fund is only eligible to descendants of Addie and William Dock Merrell. This again is necessary due to limited funds. The program might expand at a later date to include others.

NOTE: Funds generated will not be combined with any other Family funds and will be used exclusively for the Merrell Scholarship program.
